About
Welcome to my HUGO blog
Hi, I am Ian and I live in the city of Espoo, located in southern Finland. I am a computer engineer currently working at Nokia.
Born in Finland 1964, I am at the tail of the Baby Boomer generation, but almost a Gen-X like my wife.
I have kept blogs of various kinds for 2 decades, previously using WordPress. This blog is an attempt to use a newer platform: HUGO.
My hobbies
One of my hobbies is alpine downhill skiing, which I have done from early childhood. I have a separate blog about skiing.
Another important hobby is scuba diving, which I started 2006 and have now logged over thousand dives. And of course there is a scuba diving blog.
Languages
My native language is Finnish. My English proficiency is at the CEFR C2 level. Swedish at B-level. German, French, Italian, Spanish at A level.
